FREDONIA, N.Y.—Fredonia tallied the first three goals of the game and held on for a 3-1 victory over visiting Buffalo State today in a SUNYAC and "Battle by the Lake" contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite outshooting Fredonia 8-4 in the first half, the Bengals found themselves trailing 2-0 at the intermission.
- Buffalo State continued to be the aggressors in the second half, but the Blue Devils struck again, extending their lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute.
- Lindsay Mahoney (Port Jefferson/St. John the Baptist) finally got the Bengals on the scoreboard with her fifth goal of the season in the 86th minute, but Buffalo State would not come any closer.
- Buffalo State ended the game with an 18-7 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Nicole Torres (Wantagh/MacArthur) and Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) combined to make just one save in goal for the Bengals, playing a half each.
FOR THE FOES
- Aleeya Clemons tallied all three goals for Fredonia with Audrey Yokopovich drawing an assist on each marker.
- Marissa Quimby finished with three saves in the win.
