Box Score Geneseo, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's lacrosse team fell on the road to No. 12 SUNY Geneseo Saturday, 15-3.

The Hawks (4-5 overall, 0-3 SUNYAC) struggled with turnovers in the game, especially in the midfield. Seven on their 15 first-half turnovers came on clear-attempts where they went just 13-of-23 in the game.

"Certain factors in the game that we needed to solidify against a ranked team, unfortunately today we didn't to that," said SUNY New Paltz coach Keith Detelj.Sheintul_GIF

Halee Beebe and Hannah Marafioti opened up the game for the Knights (10-0, 3-0) with back-to-back free position goals. Emily Puciloski cut into the lead about two minutes later for the Hawks, connecting on an 8-meter herself, but SUNY Geneseo responded with seven unanswered goals to end the half and go up, 9-1.

Kayla Massena put an end to the Knights run with 26 minutes, 20 seconds left in the second half and then capped off the scoring for SUNY New Paltz with a goal with 16:27 left.

Nicole Sheintul had a great game in between the pipes for the Hawks, as she made 18 saves on 33 shots faced. Her 18 saves tied for sixth-most in program history.

Jahna Beiling played well defensively, as the sophomore limited the Knights' top assist leader, Rachel Fisher to just one assist on the day. Fisher entered the game averaging nearly two assists per game.

SUNY New Paltz will look to bounce back Tuesday, as it hosts Oswego State for a 4 p.m. game on the North Turf Field. Be sure to follow @nphawks on Twitter and @newpaltzhawks on Instagram and Facebook for updates, highlights, videos, photos and more.
