HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Sophomore Kaelee Lynch (Atwater, CA/Buhach Colony) led Buffalo State with a career-best 13 points.
  • Grace Licata (Williamsville/Williamsville South) poured in 12 points, going 4 of 5 from beyond the arc.
  • Caleh McLean (New Rochelle/New Rochelle) added eight points and seven rebounds off the bench.

  • The Bengals mustered just six points in the second quarter, but still lead 26-25 at the intermission.
  • Buffalo State continued to hold a one-point lead entering the final frame, but the lead would change six more times before the Bengals would finally prevail.
  • Plattsburgh used a 9-0 run to turn a five-point deficit into a four-point advantage with less than three minutes remaining, but the Bengals only allowed three free throws the rest of the way and chipped away before winning it at the line late.
  • Buffalo State's depth paved the way as the Bengals' bench outscored the Cardinals' 25-10, proving to be the difference.
