Tigers Secure Second Win After 7-0 Shutout

Morrisville, NY- Wittenberg traveled to Morrisville to take on the Mustangs and came away with a 7-0 shutout victory.

Less than 3 minutes into the first quarter, Maddy Krasnow led off the scoring with a goal with an assist from Victoria Pipinich. Then the Tigers scored 3 more goals in the second quarter with one from Devyn Groves, and two from Morgan Myers. In the third, the Tigers extended their lead to 4-0 on a goal from Lucy Ripepi on another assist from Pipinich. Then, in the fourth, Ripepi added two more to stretch the lead to 7-0 and finish with a hat trick.

Notables: Wittenberg outshot Morrisville 34-4 on the game and also had the advantage in penalty corners 9-2. The Tigers again played all three goalkeepers, with Izzy Thompson getting most of the playing time. It is the first time since 2004 that the team has started off the season 2-0.

Leaders: The Tigers were led offensively by Ripepi with three goals, all of which came in the second half and 2 assists from Pipinich on the game. Defensively, Caitlin Archdeacon was in goal for the only two shots on goal by Morrisville and saved both.
