FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia fell to 0-11 overall and 0-5 in the SUNYAC with a 19-2 women's lacrosse loss Sunday at University Stadium.
In addition to the scoring, all the field statistical categories favored the Lakers (7-4 overall, 3-2 SUNYAC) --most notably shots (36-12), ground balls (18-10), and draw controls (19-4). Montana Garrett led the scoring with five goals and one assist while Teresa Shattuck had 11 draws to go with one goal and two assists.
Fredonia had one goal in each half. Freshman attack
Casey Villagomez (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) scored in the first half and freshman defender
Alli Coon (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia) scored in the second.
Blue Devil senior goalkeeper
Nicole Burrows (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) was credted with 11 saves and four groundballs.
Next up for Fredonia is a Wednesday date vs. St. John Fisher.
