Oneonta, NY. The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team cruised past SUNY Brockport enroute to a 8-1 victory. The win brought the Red Dragons to 6-2/2-0 SUNYAC, and the loss dropped the Golden Eagles to 1-8/0-2 SUNYAC. Senior
Nicole Johnston (Bedford Village/Fox Lane) led all scorers with a hat trick for the Red Dragons.
The Red Dragon offense struck early in the match scoring three goals within the first four minutes. The first goal was scored by junior
Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna), when she dribble through the Brockport defense for a 1v1 with the goalkeeper. The second goal was the first of Johnston's three goals. She beat the goalie after receiving a pass from classmate
Natalie Longo (Endwell/Maine Endwell). Longo scored the next goal off of an assist by junior
Carissa Warren (Harpursville/Harpursville) to give the Red Dragons a 3-0 lead.
The Red Dragons carried momentum throughout the half, scoring three more times while only allowing one goal to carry a 6-1 lead into the break.
Coming out of the break, freshman
Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) found the back of the cage in the 63
rd minute for her second goal of the game. The Red Dragons held on to win 8-1.

Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) earned the win in goal, improving to 5-2/2-0 SUNYAC on the season.
Carly Olsen (Miller Place/Miller Place) played 62 minutes for the Red Dragons and recorded one save.
