BUFFALO, N.Y.— Buffalo State dropped its opening match against Brockport in three sets, but bounced back with a five-set marathon win over Potsdam to finish off the second day of SUNYAC Pool Play on Saturday afternoon.
MATCH 1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles swept the Bengals in the day's opening match, winning 25-18, 25-13, 25-15.
- Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) led the Bengals with nine kills and six digs in the match.
- Eimile O'Brien (Marietta/Marcellus) and Allie Harford (Sliver Creek/Silver Creek) added eight kills and two kills respectively.
- Tyler Reis (Meridianville/Hazel Green) finished with 19 assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Laiken Fox led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills. Noelle Poloncarz added 34 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Potsdam used a 9-0 run late in the first set to claim the frame, 25-13.
- Buffalo State responded with a 25-23 win in the second set, with Hansen recording seven kills including the match point.
- The Bengals used a kill from Imani Thomas (Bronx/Quest to Learn) to claim the third set, 25-17.
- Potsdam took the fourth set 25-19, but the Bengals edged the Bears 15-13 in the clinching set.
- Hansen led the Bengals with 25 kills and 13 digs, while O'Brien added 15 kills and seven digs.
- Reis finished with 41 assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Kelsey Tompkins led the Bears with 12 kills. Brianna Rodda added 37 assists.
