Cortland trailed 14-11 in the first set, but scored four straight to take the lead. The set was tied at every interval from 14-14 to 20-20. The Red Dragons eventually led 24-22 on a Courtney Silberer kill, but the Bengals tied it on a service error and a Allie Harford kill. After the teams traded points, Cortland scored the final two on a Valerie Fischer (Williston Park/Mineola) kill and a Buffalo State attack error.

The Red Dragons fell behind 19-11 in the second before rallying for the victory. Cortland went on a 7-1 run to close within 20-18, and eventually tied it at 21-21 on a Buffalo State misplay.
