Garden City, N.Y. - Following a successful outing at the Baruch/Queens dual meet earlier in the week, both of the Adelphi University men's and women's swimming programs fell to New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.
Three individuals took home top swims against the Hawks on the women's side as
Crystal Zhang,
Ashley Danulevith and
Kristen Tzavelis all placed first in their respective events. Zhang clocked in at 2:16.34 in the 200 yard IM, as Danulevith finished first in the 500 yard freestyle event in a time of 5:41.89. The duo was also a part of the quartet that placed first in the 400 yard freestyle relay alongside
Emma Brown and
Theresa Mattei.
Jason Rosen was the lone member on the men's team that earned wins in multiple events, placing tops in the lanes in the 200 yard butterfly (2:02.65) and the 200 yard backstroke events (2:09.62). Rookie
Sean Roudnitsky clocked in at 22.09 in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a season-best mark in the 100 free - although he placed third behind teammate
Matthew Mazur by .05 seconds.
Rounding out the first place finishes for the men was Eian Mckeon in the 200 yard IM, in a time of 2:06.20, for a season best.
The team will resume action on Friday, November 15 when they take on Queensborough Community College.
