Alexa Ferrer (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) and freshman midfielder
Keira Thacker (Oakville, Ontario/T.A. Blakelock) also scored for the Bears.
The Kangaroos controlled the first half, outscoring Potsdam 9-1. Cecelia Neally scored three goals, while Molly Denny and Jessica Pele added two each. Huntley got the Bears on the board at the 18:45 mark.
Canton scored the first three of the final 30 minutes, with the last two coming from Denny. Potsdam then closed the contest with a 4-0 run. Thacker netted her first collegiate marker at 10:26. Stark buried her first of the game at 5:58. After spending the first half in goal, Ferrer scored her eighth of the season at 5:06. Stark notched her second and 17th of the season with 1:09 to play.
Ferrer made five saves in the first half and sophomore
Kayla McCabe (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) stopped three shots in the second. Canton goalie Nicole Piskorowski earned the win with eight saves.
Junior defender
Meaghan Paige (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) grabbed four draw controls and Ferrer accounted for three more and four ground balls.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday, when they head to SUNY New Paltz for a 4 p.m. contest with the Hawks.
