Box Score Geneseo, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team kept their hot streak going as they beat Buffalo State 25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11 behind a record-tying performance from Maddie Zwickl. Zwickl posted 60 assists in four sets, which tied Marissa King's record for assists in a four-set match.

"I'm very pleased with our effort and play tonight," said head coach Matt Giufre. "Buffalo State came out on fire in the first set and we stayed composed and aggressive, and were fortunately able to chip away at the lead to come back and win."

The Hawks got down 12-5 in the opening set, but thanks to a couple of serving runs and three late kills from Julie Greenspan SUNY New Paltz was able to walk away with a 25-19 first set win.

The second set got off to a much better start for the Hawks, but this time it was the Bengals who chipped away to take the lead 16-15. However, thanks to some efficient offense the Hawks won the set 25-20. SUNY New Paltz hit .324 as a team in the second set, which was their best offense of the match.

After dropping the third set 23-25, the Hawks responded in a big way by dominating the fourth set 25-11 to stretch their win streak to five straight games.

The outsides for the Hawks put in arguably one of their best performances of the year as Taylor Cimillo posted 18 kills with Maddie Van Pelt not far behind with 14. Kerri Neville and Greenspan made it the second straight game with four players hitting double digit kills for the match as they reached 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

Veronica Matedero led the defense with 21 digs, while Cimillo added 13 to mark another double-double for her on the year. Meredith Dignan rounded out the solid defensive play from the Hawks with 12 digs.

"They are a tough team and I was particularly impressed with their blocking, but we still managed to find ways to score," said Giufre. "We had that little blip in set three but responded like a veteran team in set four and I thought our effort and toughness was great."

The Hawks get back on the court tomorrow for two more SUNYAC matches against SUNY Cortland and the College at Brockport.
