Box Score 2 Oneonta, NY. The SUNY Oneonta baseball team wrapped up their season with a split against New Paltz. In game one the Red Dragons won 9-3, and fell 6-1 in following game.
In game one the Red Dragons offense came out and struck for four runs in the bottom of the 1
st inning. Senior
Dalton Beatty (Atwater, CA/Atwater) stayed hot and belted his second home run of the season to deep right field to open scoring for the Red Dragons. The next batter
Dominic Lamonica (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) walked, and two batters later
Vincent Prisco (Northport/Saint Dominic) singled down the right field line. A walk by senior
Brandon Torres (Highland Mills/Monroe-Woodbury) loaded the bases with one down. The following batter
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) walked to score the second run of the game. Sophomore
James Ceparano (Melville/Half Hollow Hills East) singled with two outs, to drive in two runs and give the Red Dragons a 4-0 lead.
In the game, Prisco recorded three hits and drove in two runs while scoring two runs. LaMonica finished the game with two hits, three runs scored and a walk.
Senior
James McCarty (Stony Brook/Chaminade) earned his third win of the season for the Red Dragons to improve to 3-1. He went 6.1 innings and only allowed four hits while striking out three batters. In relief senior
Kragh Delello (Oneonta/Oneonta) pitched the last .2 innings of scoreless baseball.
In game two, the Red Dragons scored the first run of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Hawks would battle back and level the game in the second inning, 1-1. The Hawks would score another run in the 4
th and two runs in both the 8
th and 9
th inning to win 6-1.
In the nine inning game, Beatty had all four of Oneonta's hits.
Robert Ottaviano (Nanuet/Albertus Magnus) pitched four innings and allowed four hits while giving up two earned runs.
Christopher DiDomizio (Cortlandt Manor/Lakeland) pitched 3.1 innings in relief and allowed two runs and two hits.
The Red Dragons finished the season with a 12-22 overall record and 7-11 record in the SUNYAC. Beatty finished the season with a .366 batting average and McCarty had a team high three wins.
