CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State finished with 14 runs on 16 hits to go along with a complete game win from
Oriana Castello (Pearl River/Nanuet) to speed past Oberlin, 14-5, in today's opening game, before using a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh by
Chelsea Davis (Lancaster/Lancaster) to rally past UW-River Falls, 5-4, in the second game.
GAME #1 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sydney McIntosh (Buffalo/Kenmore West) and Davis each finished 3 for 4 from the plate to lead the Bengals, with McIntosh adding three RBIs to match Davis' two run scored and RBI.
- Taylor Benton (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield), Hannah Dunlap (Batavia/Oakfield-Alabama) and Castello each went 2 for 4 from the dish and combined to tally five RBIs and four runs scored.
- Julia Blujus (Amherst/Sacred Heart) went 2 for 5 with an RBI and two run scored, while Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) finished 1 for 3 with two RBIs and two run scored.
- Cassie O'Hern (Augusta, NJ/High Point) added a two-run triple and Laura Bagley (Clarence/Clarence) chipped in an RBI and a runs scored.
- Castello earned the win on the mound for the Bengals, giving up four earned runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
- Buffalo State opened the scoring with a two-run first inning off of four hits, but saw its lead cut in half as Oberlin used an RBI-single in the bottom of the inning.
- The Bengals pushed across two more runs in the top of the second that was started by a lead-off double by Dunlap.
- After the Yeos cut the lead to 4-3 in the bottom of the frame, Buffalo State scored a pair of runs for the third-consecutive inning to take a 6-3 lead after three innings.
- Oberlin plated one more run in bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 6-4, before the Bengals exploded with a seven hit, eight-run top of the sixth inning to extend its lead to 14-4.
- The Yeos were able to push across one final run in the bottom of the sixth, but could not force a seventh inning as Buffalo State earned the 14-5 win in six innings.
FOR THE FOES
- Maddison Paladino led Oberlin from the plate, going 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Hannah Rasmussen was credited with the loss, giving up five earned runs on seven hits in three innings of work.
- Dani Pechthalt and Leandre Glendenning pitched three innings of relief, giving up eight runs on nine hits.

- Davis continued her hot streak in the second game, going 2 for 4 with two RBI's and a run scored.
- Castello went 2 for 3 with a run scored, while Dunlap went 1 for 3 with two-RBI triple.
- McIntosh, Blujus, O'Hern and Bagley each also recorded a hit for the Bengals.
- Emma Richard (Grand Island/Grand Island) started the game and gave up one run on one hit in two innings of work.
- Marissa Hayes (N.Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield) picked up the win on the mound, not giving up any earned runs on five hits in five innings of relief.
- River Falls jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a lead-off double down the left field line in the top of the first inning.
- Buffalo State responded with a two-run bottom of the inning highlighted by a RBI double by McIntosh.
- The score remained 2-1 for the next three innings until the Falcons plated three runs on only two hits to retake a 4-2 lead.
- The Bengals rallied to even the score in the bottom of the sixth innings as Dunlap hit a two-RBI triple to right center field.
- After a scoreless top of the seventh inning for River Falls, Buffalo State used a walk and a single to push a runner into scoring position with no outs. Davis stepped into the batter's box and hit a walk-off, RBI single up the middle to score Blujus to secure the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Kaia Dorn and Rebecca Daley combined for four of the six total Falcon hits to go along with two RBIs.
- Payton Speckel was credited with the loss on the mound for River Falls, giving up the final run off of two hits.
- Corinne Roe and Hannah Stegeman combined to pitch six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits in the span.
NOTEWORTHY
- With the win over UW-River Falls, head coach Jamie Brown earned her 300th career win for a career spanning Division I, II and III.
- This is Buffalo State's first double-header sweep in Clermont, FL since the 2016 season.
