Field Hockey's offense overpowers Narazeth in a seven goal shutout

Rochester, NY. The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team increased its win streak to 10 games with a 7-0 win over Nazareth Sunday.  The high-powered Red Dragon offense put in three goals in the first half and four in second. Oneonta moves to 12-2, Nazareth falls to 1-13 overall with the defeat.

Oneonta was awarded a penalty stroke at 11:13 for Nazareth covering the ball and Allyson Wells (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) scored her 10th goal of the season for the first goal of the game.

In the 15th minute, Nicole Johnston (Bedford Village/Fox Lane) fired a shot from 15-yards out into the near post to give the Red Dragons a 2-0 advantage.

Wells centered a pass from the end line that Grace Bilow (Webster/Webster Thomas) converted with 13 minutes remaining in the half to push the lead to 3-0.

Nicole Johnston (Bedford Village/Fox Lane) and Ally Wells each put home goals in the second half to finish with two apiece in the game.  Oneonta added two other goals form Cali Cortese (Yorktown Heights/Lakeland) and Alise Anson (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) to round out the scoring.

Sophomore Danell Jones (Whitney Point/Whitney Point) and junior Carly Olsen (Miller Place/Miller Place) combine for a shutout. Jones had five saves and earned her 11th save of the season.

The Red Dragons are back in action next weekend when they take on conference opponent SUNY Cortland at Cortland.
