BROCKPORT, N.Y.—Third-seeded Brockport used an 8-0 run late in the first half to pull away from visiting No. 6 Buffalo State and cruised to a 20-7 victory today in a SUNYAC quarterfinal contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) led Buffalo State with two goals and an assist.
- Christina Krowel (Amsterdam/B.H.-B.L.) scored twice on nine shot attempts.
- Kendall Skuse (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) and Ally Ruggieri (Brockport/Brockport) had a goal and an assist each, and Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) also scored.
- Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) finished with nine saves in the loss.
- Brockport jumped out to an early 6-1 lead, but the Bengals answered with back-to-back goals by Schaefer to cut the deficit to three.
- The Golden Eagles responded with an 8-0 run over a span of less than 11 minutes before Buffalo State netted the final goal of the first half to trail 14-4 at the intermission.
- Brockport continued to pull away in the second have with the first five goals of the frame before the Bengals netted three of the game's final four goals.
- Brockport held a 34-25 advantage in shot attempts and a 29-20 edge in shots on goal.

- Andrea Zlinsky scored four times, and Sara Grapevine had a goal and five assists for Brockport.
