BUFFALO, N.Y.—Freshman
Kyndal Hetzel (Hilton/Hilton) netted her first collegiate goal, but it was not enough as Buffalo State fell short by a 3-1 count against visiting Nazareth in a non-conference match tonight under the lights at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth opened the scoring in just the 13th minute with a bomb from near midfield that one-hopped over the Buffalo State keepers head into the back of the net.
- The Golden Flyers upped their lead to 2-0 in the 34th minute with a high shot off a loose ball from roughly 20 yards out.
- Nazareth added an insurance marker with a rebound tally in the 76th minute.
- Buffalo State struck for its only goal of the contest just over three minutes later when Paige Bly (Kings Park/Kings Park) settled a loose ball and fed it to Hetzel who ripped a shot from 22 yard that bent into the upper left corner.
- The balance of play was even for much of the night with shots ending at 11-11 for the contest.
- Nicole Torres (Wantagh/MacArthur) started the game in goal, making two saves with one goal against in 29 minutes of work, and Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) had one save and two goals against in relief.
FOR THE FOES
- Kate Billington, Elizabeth Guidi and Nicole Petocchi all scored for Nazareth.
- Hannah Miller finished with two saves in the win.
