BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team began its conference portion of the schedule with a 3-0 win over Buffalo State on Friday. The Devils won 25-20, 25-16, and 31-29.

Kristen Stanek (Hamburg, N.Y. / Orchard Park) led the offense with 15 kills. Kailey Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) had 12 kills and three aces and Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) added nine kills. Hallie Christopher (East Amherst, N.Y. / Clarence) had 41 assists.

The defense played well, accumulating 70 digs. Falk led the team with 18 while Courtney Poirier (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West) had 16 and Aiello had 13.

The Blue Devils improved to 8-5.

They take on Cortland and Brockport tomorrow afternoon.
