Oneonta, NY. The SUNY Oneonta volleyball team punched its ticket to the SUNYAC tournament as the fifth seed after going 1-2 this weekend. The Red Dragons made short work of Plattsburgh with a 3-1 victory (25-20, 25-11, 17-25 and 25-19). They lost to New Paltz in four sets, 3-1 and to Geneseo in a straight sets. The Red Dragons are now 10-17 and finished 4-5 in the SUNYAC.
On the weekend, senior
Melissa Voyer (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) led the Red Dragons with 34 kills and a .354 attack percentage. She also had four solo blocks and one block assist. Classmate
Sara Feldman (Smithtown/Smithtown East) had 26 kills and 14 digs.
Sophomore
Jessica Fowler (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) had a team high 98 assists to go with 22 digs. Sophomore
Lindsay Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) led the Red Dragons in digs with 41 while also collecting seven assists.
The Red Dragons are set to line up against New Paltz on the road in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 31st beginning at 6pm.
The Red Dragons are back in action in the Dig Pink Invitational next weekend October 27
th.
