POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team lost 3-1 at Potsdam on Saturday despite owning an early lead. Oswego drops to 6-4-1 overall and 1-3-0 in SUNYAC action while the Bears improve to .500 on the year (5-5-0) and to 1-2-0 in the league.
Hassan Musa tallied his team leading eighth goal just over 10 minutes into the game to hand the Lakers an advantage. The junior's eighth of the year was assisted by classmate
Karebo Wilson, the midfielder's second helper of the year.
Just over 12 minutes later, the host Bears were able to even the score with a goal at 22:55. The first half would remain a 1-1 tie for the final 22:05 as the teams headed to the break on even ground.
In the second half, Potsdam was able to keep the Lakers off the board and scored the game-winner at 55:45 and tacked on an insurance goal in the 68th minute.
Freshman
Brian Terra had a solid game in net for Oswego, stopping a career-high eight shots despite being on the hook for the loss. The first-year goalie is now 4-4-0 on the season.
Oswego heads back to the pitch at 3 p.m. on Friday when it continues SUNYAC play on the road at Buffalo State.
