BUFFALO, N.Y. –
Kendall Skuse (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) finished with two goals and three assists to become the 18
th player in Buffalo State history to reach the 100-point plateau but it was not enough as New Paltz scored with 1:22 left in the first overtime to slip past the host Bengals 12-11 in SUNYAC action this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Skuse and Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) tallied five points each, with Schaefer finishing with four goals and an assist.
- Hannah Nagowski (Lancaster/Lancaster) added three goals and an assist.
- Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) chipped in a pair of second-half goals, while Melissa Camp (Walworth/Gananda) led the Bengals with four ground balls.
- New Paltz stormed out of the gates by scoring five of the first seven goals to take a 5-2 lead at the halfway point of the first half.
- Buffalo State responded by closing the half on a 4-1 run to even the score at 6-6 at the halftime whistle.
- Schaefer scored just over a minute into the second half to give the Bengals their first lead, but they failed to hold onto the momentum as the Hawks scored just 14 seconds later.
- Both teams traded goals over the 24 minutes until Dufresne scored off an assist from Skuse to give Buffalo State an 11-10 lead with 4:14 left.
- New Paltz sent the game to overtime with a goal with only 2:17 remaining in the contest.
- After over four minutes of scoreless action in the overtime frame, the Hawks finally broke through on a goal with 1:22 left in the first overtime to seal the win.
- Janae Nelson (Elmont/Elmont Memorial) finished with 12 saves in net for the Bengals.
- Buffalo State held an 18-8 advantage in draw controls but could not overcome 23 turnovers.
- New Paltz finished with a 39-30 shots advantage.
FOR THE FOES
- Maddy Carullo finished with a game-high eight goals to pace the Hawks, while Taylor Russell finished with five assists.
- Haley Timarky earned the win in net, making 13 saves in 64:38 minutes of action.
