BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team captured their sixth consecutive win with a double overtime victory over Buffalo State Friday evening at Coyer Field.
Plattsburgh State moved to 10-3-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the SUNYAC while Buffalo State is now 3-10-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the SUNYAC.
The Bangles struck first, scoring in the 36th minute with a shot from 18 yards out and headed into halftime up 1-0.

The Cardinals tied the game in the 56th minute when
Sarah Haight (East Meredith, N.Y. / Charlotte Valley) deked out a Bangle defender to put the ball into the net right under the cross bar.
Rachael Moran (Hopewell Junction, N.Y. / Arlington) scored nine minutes later from 20-yards out off a quick pass from Haight to take a 2-1 lead.
Buffalo State tied the game in the 86th minute off a corner kick that was headed in by the far post.
The game remained 2-2 at the end of the second half and was forced into overtime.
Plattsburgh State's defense did not allow a single shot from Buffalo State in the first overtime and the Cardinal offense had three shots one of which was on goal. The score stayed 2-2 at the end of ten minutes and the game entered double overtime.
It was a battle of Cardinals verse Bangles until the final minute in double overtime, each team having multiple chances to end the game.
In the 108th minute Haight headed the ball to
Madeline Saccocio (Schenectady, N.Y. / Schalmont) who had a breakaway down the middle to put the ball into the back right corner of the net to score the game ending goal.
Plattsburgh State out-shot Buffalo State 25-11 in all four periods.
Saccocio recorded six shots, three on net and her 14th goal of the season. Haight had four shots, one on goal and two assists. Moran had three shots, all of which were on goal and
Cait Gagen (East Syracuse, N.Y. / East Syracuse-Minoa) had three shots, one on goal.
Nichole Gibson (Arkport, N.Y. / Arkport) made two saves in her 108:53 minutes between the pipes.
The Cardinals are away Saturday to continue SUNYAC play against Fredonia State at 1 p.m.
