Box Score MIDDLEBURY, Vt.– The No. 2 ranked Middlebury College Panthers snapped Plattsburgh State men's basketball winning streak with a 92-68 victory over the Cardinals Tuesday night inside Pepin Gymnasium.
Plattsburgh State moves to 3-3 overall while Middlebury remains undefeated with a 5-0 record.
Middlebury maintained the lead from the beginning but the Cardinals were able to keep the Panthers at bay in the first half.
The Panthers had a 13 point lead with 7:18 remaining but the Cardinals went on a six point binge to come within seven.

Eric Mack (Roosevelt, N.Y./Baldwin) started it with two free throws followed by a layup from

Eli Bryant (Staten Island, N.Y./Michael J. Petrides School) and junior guard
Brandon Johnson (Greenburgh, N.Y./Woodlands) finished it with two more free throws.
Middlebury took a 14 point lead but the Cardinals were able to close in with a seven point run. Howard put in a layup and Bryant made a three-pointer and two free throws.
The Panthers made one last free throw to end to first half up 38-30.
Johnson started the second half with two layups to come within four points of the lead but Middlebury went on a 16 point run to lead 59-37 with 14:40 remaining and took their largest lead of 27 points with 3:58 left.
The Cardinals were able to put up eight points in the remaining minutes including a three-pointer by sophomore guard
Jeremy Eisenman (New York, N.Y./NEST+m) in the final 24 seconds, but the Panthers prevailed with a 23 point win.
Middlebury out-rebounded Plattsburgh State 51-44 but the Cardinals recorded 81% in free throws compared to the Panthers 60%.
Bryant recorded 12 points and was 5-5 in free throws. Junior guard/forward
Chris Middleton (New York, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) had nine points and Johnson had eight.
Junior forward
Isaiah Hill (Brooklyn, N.Y./HS for Dual Language and Asian Studies) also had eight points and picked up a team high of 10 rebounds.
Plattsburgh State is away Friday, Dec. 8, for a SUNYAC game against The College at Brockport with a 7:30 p.m. tip off.
