FREDONIA, N.Y.—The College at Brockport women's soccer team saw its unbeaten streak come to an end on Friday, falling 1-0 to Fredonia State in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.
 
The Golden Eagles stumbled early in the game and let up a goal giving the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead in the third minute. The offense was not able to get going, but defensively would remain strong including goalkeeper Kimberly Lubanski who made three important saves. Unfortunately, Brockport was unable to net the equalizer and would go into the break down 1-0.  
 
The Green and Gold continued to hold Fredonia from netting another goal and battled hard offensively in the second half. Brockport fired six shots, but were unable to knock in the game tying goal. The score would remain the same and the Golden Eagles would lose their second game of the season by a score of 1-0.
 
"I was really surprised, but we weren't ready to start the game today and we paid for it," stated head coach Mike Idland. "I think we will learn from today and it will help us for matches in the future."
 
Brockport will look to get back to their winning ways as they travel to Buffalo State for a 7 p.m. SUNYAC game Sept. 23.
