OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team fell to Geneseo, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in the second game of Homecoming Weekend. With the loss, the Lakers move to 6-8-1 overall and 1-7-0 in conference play while the Knights improve to 7-5-2 on the season and 3-3-1 in SUNYAC play.
Junior
Jason Siracuse scored the Lakers' lone goal, his fifth of the season. At 27:52,
Connor Lunduski fed the ball to Siracuse, who was in front of the goal without a single Geneseo defender on him, and Siracuse shot the ball past the goalie into the net. Lunduski's assist was his team-leading seventh assist of the season.
Goalie
Evan Bogucki held off the Knights in the first 70 minutes of gameplay, but eventually Geneseo was able to score. The junior notched 11 saves during the game, the second-highest of his career after the 13 saves he made in a 1-0 shutout of Brockport on Oct. 14, 2016.
Next, the Lakers will host Cortland at 4 p.m. at Laker Turf Stadium on Saturday for Senior Day. It is their final game of the regular season.
