LOCATION: Coyer Field - Buffalo, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Buffalo State opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Sophia Osmond (W. Seneca/W. Seneca West) received a pass from Kyndal Hetzel (Hilton/Hilton) that caromed off a pair of Plattsburgh defenders and blasted it into the upper left corner for her first collegiate goal.
  • The Bengals had a chance to push the lead to 2-0 early in the second half, but Alexandra Bone's (Williamsville/Williamsville East) floating try was punched away off the goal line by the Cardinals' keeper.
  • Plattsburgh had a shot that ricocheted off the left post just minutes later, but finally broke through in the 56th minute with a nice move and finish from the left wing.
  • The Cardinals took their first lead of the game less than 10 minutes later on a strong shot from 20 yards.
  • Buffalo State battled hard down the stretch and evened the score with four minutes remaining on a back post header by Victoria Colotti (New Windsor/Newburgh Free) for her fourth goal of the season off a corner kick by Paige Bly (Kings Park/Kings Park).
  • Plattsburgh earned the best chance in the first overtime with a wild scramble midway through the period, but the Bengals were able to eventually clear.
  • Both teams generated modest chances in the second extra session, but the Cardinals eventually ended it with 1:07 remaining on a shot off a break that found its way inside the right post.
  • The Cardinals finished with a 25-11 advantage in shots, including 10-5 on goal.
  • Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) finished with seven saves for Buffalo State.
