Oswego Wins First Game in NCAA Tournament

Worcester, MA- The two seed Oswego Laker's dominated the seven seed Suffolk Rams 13 to 3. Oswego who made it to the 2017 World Series started the 2018 tournament right by hitting three home runs. 

Oswego jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with RBI singles from Zach Whelan and Ryan Enos.

Suffolk answered right back in the top of the third with a sacrifice fly from Seth Coiley to get one back. Greg Speliotis added an RBI single to center to tie the game at 2.That would be as close as Suffolk got to taking a lead tonight.

Ryan Enos added two more RBI's in the bottom of the fourth with a deep two-run home run.

The Lakers broke the game wide open with eight in the bottom of the fifth. It all started with Myles Kutscher scoring on a passed ball.  Kevin Hylas singled right up the middle scoring two more Laker's.  Hylas ended up scoring on a fielding error. A couple batters later with the bases loaded Mike Dellicarri hit a two-out grand slam that stretched the score to 12-2 Laker's.

Oswego hit another home run in the sixth, this time it was a solo shot from Myles Kutscher.

Suffolk scored one in the top of the ninth when Joe Rufo scored on a wild pitch.

Oswego's Reston Pettit gave the Lakers seven strong innings only giving up two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts. 

With the win, Oswego will take on No.3 Keystone College at 8 pm Friday in Harwich, MA in a winners bracket game.
