Oneonta sweeps baseball weekly honors

CORTLAND N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Oneonta's Patrick Mcgee (Mahopac, N.Y.) and Robert Ottaviano (Nanuet, N.Y.) as the Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week.

Patrick McGee helped pace Oneonta to a 3-1 record last week including a series win over New Paltz to keep the Red Dragons playoff hopes alive. He was 8-for-15 at the plate to earn a .533 average for the week. McGee drove in seven runs scoring five times while also earning a .611 on base percentage and .667 slugging.

Senior Robert Ottaviano earned two wins this past past week as Oneonta took two out of three from New Paltz. He earned his first win on Wednesday in a 14-8 victory over the Hawks. He pitched four innings, allowed one run while striking out four. In another must win game for the Red Dragons, Ottaviano started Thursday's final game of the series, going five innings, allowing one run while striking out eight to earn his second victory in as many days. Ottaviano finished the week with a record of 2-0 and a 2.00 ERA.
