SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Cortland's Colin BeVard as its Baseball Athlete of the Week and Oneonta's Michael Losak the Pitcher of the Week after the second week of spring 2021 competition.
BeVard batted .500 (5-for-10) with two homers, two doubles, three walks, six RBI, seven runs and two steals in a 3-1 week for the Red Dragons. He finished the week with a .643 on-base percentage and a 1.300 slugging percentage. BeVard went 3-for-3 with a homer, two doubles and four RBI in a 6-1 win over Clarkson and also homered in a loss to Cobleskill.
Losak had a strong week in relief for the Red Dragons helping to lead them to a 3-1 record for the week with a sweep of Cazenovia while splitting with Brockport. In three appearances last week, Losak recorded a win and a save. His victory came against Brockport pitching three scoreless innings, as the Red Dragons defeated the Golden Eagles 3-1. His save came in game 2 of the doubleheader against Cazenovia throwing 1 1/3 allowing two hits and one run.
