Brockport Teammates Tabbed SUNYAC Baseball Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Brockport's Matt O'Dair and Trevor McCarthy have been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

O'Dair extended his hit streak to five games after collecting multiple hits in all four games for Brockport this past week. O'Dair was a combined 9-for-14 at the plate as the Golden Eagles went 3-1, improving to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in SUNYAC play. Connecting for at least two hits in each contest, Matt also had at least one RBI in each game. He totaled six RBIs in the week, including three RBIs in a 2-for-3 effort in the 14-2 win against Oswego. O'Dair also went a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases in four games and is batting .556 for the season so far.

McCarthy (1-0) made two appearances on the mound this past week, as Brockport went 3-1 in four SUNYAC games. McCarthy entered as a reliever in a 15-2 victory over Fredonia, throwing two strikeouts and allowing no runs in four innings of action. He got the start against Oswego, nearly pitching a complete game to earn the win. Trevor struck out eight batters in a 14-2 Brockport win, allowing just one earned run in six innings pitched. The Golden Eagles now stand at 4-2 overall and 3-1 in SUNYAC play.
