SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oswego's Kyle Lauria and Cortland's Zack Durant have been selected as this week's State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Lauria helped the baseball team to a 6-0 week, including a 4-0 mark in conference play. The senior infielder went 12-for-20 (.600) with 13 RBI and 10 runs scored and five stolen bases during the week. He reached base another six times by walk or being hit-by-pitch for a staggering .667 on-base-percentage during the week. Lauria and the Oswego State baseball team are back in action when they hit the road to North Country for a 1 p.m. doubleheader matchup with Clarkson of the Liberty League.

Durant allowed only two hits, struck out five and didn't issue any walks over six scoreless innings to earn the win as Cortland opened SUNYAC play with a 14-1 win at Oneonta Thursday. For the season, Durant is 3-0 and has not allowed any runs in 16 innings. He's given up only nine hits and two walks and has struck out 14 batters.
