CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland and Oswego each took a win Friday to force game three of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) baseball best-of-three championship series. The game will start at noon on Saturday, May 22 at Cortland's Robert H. Wallace '53 Field. The champion will earn an automatic berth into the Division III NCAA baseball tournament.
Oswego won the first game, 7-6. Cortland came back to win the second game, 11-10, at the bottom of the 10th inning on a home run from Scott Giordano.
The Red Dragons will look to capture their 35th overall conference crown and first since 2016. Th Lakers look to defend the title after winning the championship in 2019 and 2018 and earning the automatic berth in 2017 after the championship was cancelled due to weather. With a win on Saturday, Oswego would capture its 16th overall SUNYAC baseball championship title.
