SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tabs Danny Coleman of Cortland and Andrew Huffman of Brockport as PrestoSports Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week.
Coleman went 4-for-6 with a homer, two doubles, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in a doubleheader sweep Saturday versus visiting Fredonia. He was 3-for-4 with a homer and double in an 11-4 win in Game 1 and went 1-for-2 with a double, walk, sacrifice fly and RBI in a 9-2 win in the second game. Coleman also registered six assists and a putout with no errors during the twinbill.
Huffman had the best performance of his career to date on the mound. In Saturday's game 1 3-1 victory over the Oneonta Red Dragons, Huffman went the distance throwing a complete nine-inning game throwing a total of 113 pitches against Oneonta. He struck out a career-high 14 batters allowing four hits and one unearned run after facing 32 batters only giving up one walk in the game. Huffman advances to 5-0 to begin the season and is tied for the lowest ERA in all of division three baseball with a 0.00 ERA through 32.1 innings pitched this season.
