Gibaldi and Reinoehl named SUNYAC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Cortland teammates, Jess Gibaldi (Westbury, N.Y./W.T. Clarke) and Kailynne Reinoehl (Lititz, PA/Warwick) as its Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Atheltes of the week respectively.

Gibaldi was involved in all nine Cortland goals last week, leading the Red Dragons (11-5, 4-2 SUNYAC) to a pair of home conference wins last week. She finished with 13 points on four goals and five assists.In a 3-0 victory versus Geneseo on Wednesday, Gibaldi scored the game-winner at 16:04, assisted on Cortland's second goal and added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute. She then notched a career-high eight points on two goals and four assists in a 6-0 win versus Brockport on Saturday, matching the program single-game assist record. For the season, Gibaldi leads the Red Dragons with 48 points, which is tied for fifth in a single season at Cortland, on team bests of 17 goals and 14 assists. She has moved into ninth place in career scoring with 114 points on 47 goals and 20 assists.

Reinoehl posted a pair of shutouts last week as the Red Dragons improved to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in the SUNYAC. In a 3-0 victory versus Geneseo on Wednesday, she turned aside eight shots. Reinoehl followed up with one save in a 6-0 win versus Brockport on Saturday. For the season, she has posted an 11-5 record with five shutouts, a 1.43 GAA and a .763 save percentage.
