Croteau and D'Amico named PrestoSports Field Hockey Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selected New Paltz's Carly Croteau (Bayport, N.Y.) and Cortland's Marisa D'Amico (Smithtown, N.Y.) as its first PrestoSports Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week Awards for the 2019 season.

Junior forward, Croteau played all but five minutes combined in the Hawks' two dominating performances against Utica College and St. Lawrence University this past weekend. She led her team in goals (2), points (5) and shot percentage (.500), while scoring the go-ahead goal against St. Lawrence Saturday to put her team up 1-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. The Hawks went on to win the game, 2-0. She added a goal and an assist in New Paltz's season opening 4-1 win over tournament host Utica. 

D'Amico, the senior goalkeeper, helped lead Cortland to its third straight Smith College Caryl Newhof Classic title, earning a spot on the all-tournament team after posting a 2-0 record with 13 saves, an .867 save percentage and a 1.11 GAA in here first two career starts. In a 9-1 victory over Maine-Farmington on Saturday, she faced just one shot on goal in 48:15. She followed with a career-best 13 saves as the Red Dragons defeated host Smith, 2-1, in the championship game on Sunday.
