CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honored Geneseo teammates Haley Clark (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Jordan Penkitis (Pittsford, N.Y.) with its PrestoSports Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week Awards respectively.
Clark led the Knights to a pair of victories last week, including a 2-0 road shutout of Cortland in SUNYAC action, Saturday. Clark totaled a goal and three assists in Wednesday's 5-1 victory at Houghton before scoring a goal in Saturday's decision as Geneseo won its seventh-straight game as well as for the ninth time in its last 10 outings.
Penkitis anchored the Geneseo defense in two victories last week. She scored a goal in Wednesday's 5-1 win at Houghton in which the Knights' defense held the Highlanders to eight shots and only four on goal. Penkitis assisted both goals in Geneseo's 2-0 shutout at Cortland on Saturday as Geneseo won its seventh-straight game as well as for the ninth time in its last 10 outings.
