Final 2019 PrestoSports Field Hockey Weekly Awards Released

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Geneseo's Jordan Penkitis (PIttsford, N.Y.) and Cortland's Marisa D'Amico (Smithtown, N.Y.) its PrestoSports Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively. 

Penkitis totaled eight points during a 2-0 week for the Knights which included securing a 6-0 SUNYAC mark for the first time since 2010. After notching a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-0 victory over visiting Brockport, she scored two goals and an assist in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Rochester. She broke a 2-2 tie with the lone goal of the second half for what proved to be the deciding tally as the Knights secured their 14th-consecutive win.

D'Amico posted a 2-0 record with a 0.67 GAA, 15 saves and a .938 save percentage last week for the Red Dragons (15-3). In a 10-0 win versus Morrisville St. on Wednesday, D'Amico made two saves in the first half. She then stopped 13 shots as Cortland defeated Skidmore, 2-1, on Saturday for its seventh consecutive victory. With her 13 saves on Saturday, D'Amico has now recorded the fifth-highest single-season save effort in program history with 144. Overall, she has a 15-3 record with a 1.15 GAA and an .873 save percentage.
