Fleming and Moran Named SUNYAC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC has selected Morgan Fleming (Oneonta) and Sam Moran (New Paltz) as the conference's Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Fleming recorded three goals, including a game-winner, and had the game-winning assist for seven points in Oneonta's 2-0 week. Fleming scored the game-winning goal in the Red Dragons 8-0 win over Morrisville a minute and a half into the contest and completed the hat trick before the end of the first half. In their 2-1 win against Ramapo, Fleming assisted the game-winning goal with less than three minutes to play.

Moran had a historic week for the Hawks. The senior back set a new single game program record with four defensive saves against No. 11 nationally ranked Kean on the road, helping the team nearly pull an upset over the Cougars in a 2-1 loss. Her four defensive saves added to her career total of 10, which put her one defensive save away to be the program's all-time record holder. She then again played the full 60 minutes in a 2-0 shutout over Oswego where she helped her team hold the Lakers to just four shots.
