CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its top athlete for men's basketball. Nominations were submitted from across the conference, and the winner was selected by the conference office. 

Plattsburgh's Jonathan Patron has been selected as Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row.  The junior from Huntington led the Cardinals to conference wins over Cortland and Oswego and helped them move into a three-way tie (7-1) for the SUNYAC lead. In an 80-78 shootout win over the Red Dragons, Patron had a double-double (20 pts, 10 reb). Against the Lakers, Patron registered 27 points and 12 rebounds for another double-double in an 89-75 victory. The Cardinals are now riding a six-game win streak and will continue to fight for first place in conference standing.
