SWARTHMORE, Pa.— After a 21-game win streak the No. 16 Plattsburgh State men's basketball season came to an end Friday night when they lost to No. 14 Swarthmore College 93-63 in the sectional semifinal of the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Senior guard Eric Mack (Roosevelt, N.Y./Baldwin) led the Cardinals with 16 points and two blocks, junior forward Jonathan Patron (Huntington, N.Y. / Harborfields) had 12 points and senior guard Eli Bryant (Staten Island, N.Y./Michael J. Petrides School) recorded nine.

Swarthmore College had control of the game from the start holding Plattsburgh State to five points for six munities and leading 24-7 with 10:47 left in the first half.

Junior guard Brandon Johnson (Greenburgh, N.Y./Woodlands) put in a layup followed by Patron with a layup to continue the momentum off a steal from Mack to come within 13 points of the lead.

The Garnet made a three-pointer and the Cardinals went on a six-point spree to cut the deficit to ten points.

Senior guard Zack Coleman (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) made two free throws and put in a jumper and junior forward Ian Howard (Queens, N.Y./Springfield Gardens) made two free throws.

Swarthmore College had a 16-point advantage with 1:48 left until halftime when Mack put in a jumper and a steal from Bryant set Mack up for a dunk to cut it to 12 points.

The Garnet put in a layup to head into halftime up 41-27.

The Cardinals kept the Garnet within reach until they went on a 13 point run to take their largest lead of 32 points with 10:11 left in the game.

The Cardinals went on another six-point run with sophomore guard Nick DeAngelis (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) making a layup Mack put in a jumper and Bryant made a layup.

Swarthmore College kept up their momentum and finished the game with a three-pointer to take the 30-point win.

The Garnet out-shot Plattsburgh State 59.7% to 34.9% and were 57.14% from beyond the arc in the second half.
