CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Cortland senior Nicky Bonura (Mount Kisco, N.Y. / Fox Lane) as its Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Bonura scored a career-high 34 points, including a career-high tying nine three-pointers, in Cortland's 96-76 win at Old Westbury Saturday. He finished 9-of-14 from the arc (11-of-19 overall) and 3-for-3 from the foul line, and also added five rebounds and two steals. His nine three-pointers are one shy of matching the school single-game record. Bonura accounted for half of Cortland's school team record-tying 18 made 3-pointers in the victory.
