SYRACUSE, N.Y. - No. 1 Oswego and No. 2 Oneonta will face off in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's basketball title game, Saturday at 4 p.m. in Oswego.
The Lakers defeated New Paltz, 94-60 while the Red Dragons topped Brockport, 64-54, in the semifinals Friday night.
Oswego will play for its ninth overall SUNYAC title while Oneonta will look to win its first-ever championship crown Saturday.
Elite 20
The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. Friday night Oswego's Louis Fedullo was honored as this year's recipient holding a 3.73 GPA in business administraion.
