CORTLAND, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Potsdam's Nosa Onabor (Brooklyn, NY) as the first SUNYAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week recipient of the 2017-18 season.

Over the weekend, Onabor led the Bears to a championship title as they hosted the North Country Tip-Off Tournament at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. In their 84-57 victory over Green Mountain, the junior guard recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. In the Bears' 85-78 victory over Bridgewater St., Onabor recorded yet another double-double with 26 points and 12 boards in the title game. He finished the weekend shooting 53.6 percent from the floor and 63.6 percent from the 3-point line. Onabor was also named MVP of the tournament for his outstanding performance on the weekend. The Bears will travel to Newburgh to face Mount Saint Mary's in a non-conference matchup on the road this Tuesday.
