SUNYAC Game of the Week: Potsdam Rallies Back

CORTLAND, NY - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the men's ice hockey matchup between Buffalo State and Potsdam as the game of the week.

A back and forth match kept spectators on their toes as the scoring opened up seven minutes into the game.

Buffalo State's Ben Butcher slotted the first goal for the Bengals from Hugo Petit's assist. Potsdam was able to find an answer five minutes later with an equalizer from Vinny Guimond from a Jake Martin assist.

The second period saw more action as both teams traded goals again in the period keeping the contest at a deadlock.

Good offensive puck movement from Buffalo State's Anthony Passero and Zach Remers led to a goal from Zach Nieminen to give the Bengals the lead again. Later in the period, Potsdam's Sean Winikates scored from a Bryce Ferrell assist to tie things back up.

Shots were flying from both teams in the final period of the game but it took nearly 20 minutes before the winning shot finally went through.
