Buffalo State Sweeps PrestoSports Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) selects Buffalo State teammates Nikita Kozyrev (Tallinn, Estonia), Zach Remers (Clarence, N.Y.) and Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden) as this weeks Rookie, Player and Goaltender of the Week respectively. 

The Estonian rookie tallied four points in Buffalo State's pair of SUNYAC victories over the weekend. Kozyrev had a goal and two assists in the Bengals' 4-2 upset win over No. 2 Geneseo on Friday and added another assist in Saturday's 3-0 victory at Brockport. 

The senior biochemistry major had a four-point weekend with three goals and an assist in a pair of SUNYAC victories. Remers scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 4-2 win over No. 2 Geneseo, and then had two goals and an assist in Saturday's 3-0 victory at Brockport. He leads the Bengals with six goals which is tied for third-best in the SUNYAC. 

Norrman backstopped the Bengals to a pair of SUNYAC victories over the weekend, including a 39-save performance in a 4-2 home victory over nationally-No. 2 ranked Geneseo on Friday. The freshman business major followed that performance with his first collegiate shutout on Saturday, making 31 stops in a 3-0 win at Brockport. He had a .972 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average in the two games.
