Oswego's Hansen Recognized with Donald Snygg Award

OSWEGO, N.Y. - Senior goaltender Cedric Hansen - of the men's ice hockey team - has been awarded the Donald Snygg Award for his achievements on the ice and on the Oswego campus.  The award is typically given out at the college's annual Honor's Convocation in April.

Hansen has appeared in 21 games for the Lakers during his career, recording a goals-against-average of just 2.19.  The Ottawa, Ontario native has made 330 saves while posting a 12-5 record with a pair of shutouts in the green and gold.  Hansen is a two-time SUNYAC Elite 20 award winner for having the highest grade point average among all student-athletes at the Conference Finals site and is a three-time member of the SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

On campus, Hansen is a Software Engineering major with a minor in Mathematics who carries a 3.87 grade point average.  He earned the Outstanding Senior in Software Engineering Award in 2020, the Edward Austin Sheldon Scholarship in 2018-19 and was an American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III Academic All-American in 2019.

Hansen has had internships with both Novelis and IBM, was a tutor with the Office of Learning Services and took part in dozens of community service initiatives with the men's hockey program.  After graduation, Hansen intends to continue on with IBM as a software developer back in Ottawa.
