Oswego teammates honored with men's lacrosse weekly awards

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Oswego teammates Bobby Emerson (Lake Grove, N.Y.) as Athlete of the Week, and Kevin O'Donnell (Cleveland, Ohio) as Goalie of the Week.

Emerson helped the Lakers to a 2-0 record over spring break, collecting 10 points in the process. In Wednesday's 12-2 victory at St. Joseph's (L.I.), the senior recorded a season-high five goals and one assist for a team-high six points. Emerson posted a shot on-goal percentage of .778, taking seven shots. He also picked up three ground balls, while causing one turnover. In Saturday's 12-5 win at Keuka College, Emerson posted four goals for four points. Again posting seven shots on goal, he recorded a .700 shot on-goal percentage. The Lake Grove, N.Y. native collected a ground ball in the victory.

O'Donnell was 2-0 in goal for the Lakers, anchoring the Lakers in victories over St. Joseph's (L.I.) and Keuka College, 12-2, 12-5, respectively. The sophomore posted 11 saves in Wednesday's win over St. Joseph's, with a .846 save percentage, with 26 shots faced. The Cleveland, Ohio native made 13 saves at Keuka on Saturday. He faced 33 shots, posting a .722 save percentage. Through the two games, O'Donnell, who ranks 25th-nationally in save percentage (.625), collected a .750 save percentage, which is .018 better than the national leader. Oswego returns to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, as it travels to Utica College for an out-of-conference contest.
