CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Cortland teammates Marc Esposito (West Babylon, NY) as Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week and Joey Panariello (Islip, NY) as Athlete of the Week.
Esposito registered nine saves and one ground ball and allowed only five goals in 49:44 as the Red Dragons defeated Oswego, 19-7, to close out their regular season with a 12-4 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the SUNYAC. Esposito recorded a 6.03 GAA and a .643 save percentage in the game. For the season, he has posted a 6-0 record with a 6.39 GAA, 89 saves and a .669 save percentage.
Panariello scored a career-high eight points on a career-best seven goals and one assist and added five ground balls as the Red Dragons wrapped up their regular season with a 19-7 win versus Oswego on Wednesday to improved to 12-4 overall and 6-0 in the SUNYAC. For the season, Panariello is second on the team in scoring the 61 points on 44 goals and 17 assists.
