Cortland voted No. 1 in 2020 Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll

CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland men's lacrosse was voted to the top of the 2020 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) preseason coaches poll with 49 points. Geneseo was ranked second (43) while Oswego was third (34).

The Cortland Red Dragons won their third-straight and 26th overall SUNYAC title in 2019. The team advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and ended the season with an overall record of 14-5. Head coach, Steve Beville was named the 2019 SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year for the third-straight season and seventh time overall. Cortland had 11 athletes named to the All-Conference team including the Rookie of the Year Marc Esposito.

Geneseo advanced to the finals of the 2019 SUNYAC championship as the third seed. The Knights ended last season 8-10 overall and had three players named to the All-Conference team. In 2020 Geneseo men's lacrosse will look to win their first SUNYAC title since 2007 and fourth overall in program history.

In 2020 Oswego will look to compete for its first-ever men's lacrosse SUNYAC crown. In 2019, the Lakers were 3-3 in conference play and finished the season 8-6 overall. Five athletes from the Oswego men's lacrosse team were named to the All-SUNYAC team last season.
