SUNYAC names Beale and Young Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected Brockport midfielder, Cameron Beale (Hicksville, N.Y.), as the men's soccer offensive athlete of the week and Cortland goalie, Connor Young (Bayport, N.Y.), as the men's soccer defensive athlete of the week.

The Golden Eagles had a pair of conference victories this weekend beating Plattsburgh, 2-1, and Potsdam, 7-1, both at home. The sophomore had his breakout game for Brockport in their win against Potsdam. Beale recorded five points by netting two goals while adding one assist versus the Bears. Those two goals were career firsts for Beale.

Young had another big week for the Red Dragons, recording seven saves in both of his shutout victories, 1-0 at Hobart and 2-0 at Oswego. His four saves against Hobart helped end the Statesmen's ten-game unbeaten streak. For the season, Young has a 15-2 record, 0.65 goals against average, 51 saves and a .823 save percentage. He has nine shutouts on the season and is tied for third in program history for career shutouts with nineteen.
