SUNYAC Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week announced

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced Ryan Stevens and Tautis Poniskaitis as the Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week.

Stevens, a freshman forward, had a break-out weekend for New Paltz. He tallied four goals, one assist, and nine points in two SUNYAC games. Against Oswego he assisted on the game-tying goal right before halftime to make it 1-1, in the second half he converted on a penalty kick to make it 2-1, he then added an insurance goal eight minutes later to seal the win for New Paltz, 4-1. The next day Stevens came up big once again, scoring the game-winning goal in the 56th minute and adding another one quickly after in the 60th minute to help New Paltz upset No. 14 Cortland 5-1.

Poniskaitis registered two clean sheets against two SUNYAC opponents in a 2-0 week for Brockport. The goalkeeper made two saves against Fredonia in a 1-0 Brockport win. The next day Poniskaitis held Buffalo State scoreless for 98 minutes, stopping 6 shots, before Brockport was able to pull out a 1-0 overtime win.
